Administrative Staff

The Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) of the University of Macau invites applications for the position of Laboratory Technician (equivalent to Senior Administrative Assistant/Administrative Assistant) at a taxable monthly salary ranging from MOP25,380 to MOP43,240 (index 270 – 460).

Responsibilities

1. Provide technical support in the operation of biomedical, pharmacological, animal and/ or zebrafish laboratory;
2. Organize equipment training and fulfill equipment administration such as routine maintenance and management;
3. Assist in procurement of laboratory resources such as equipment, chemical and consumable supplies;
4. Provide support in dangerous goods and stock control, as well as warehouse management;
5. Devise policies and measures in line with ISO14000 and ensure its effective implementation;
6. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment inside laboratory;
7. Assist ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Technology, Biochemistry, Veterinary or related fields;
2. At least 2 years of full-time working experience, experience in academic, medical or animal laboratory is preferred;
3. Research experience in biomedical sciences, animal laboratory and or related field, and knowledge of operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and facilities will be an advantage;
4. Hands-on experience in operating flow cytometer, confocal microscope, qPCR system, high resolution mass spectrometer, animal and zebrafish breeding techniques is highly desirable;
5. Solid knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements in laboratory and basic knowledge on ISO14000 is preferred;
6. Good communication skills, and ability to work effectively and independently with limited supervision;
7. Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin). Knowledge of Portuguese is an advantage.
