Roles and Responsibilities

• Ensure all plant effluents, wastewater discharge comply with environmental regulations and SHEQ requirements
• Oversee the operation and monitoring of the water treatment plants including demineralized water, domestic wastewater, industrial wastewater, boiler feed water
• Monitor, analyze and control the chemistry of the boiler water and steam, fuel oil, cooling water systems to prevent scale, deposition and corrosion
• Cooperate with project team in domestic and industrial wastewater treatment plants re-design, construction and commissioning processes
• Manage and optimize domestic and industrial wastewater treatment plant systems
• Implement and manage wastewater treatment plants preservation procedures during outages or standby periods
• Supervise the safe handling, storage and disposal of hazardous chemicals
• Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and enforce strict chemical safety

Requirements

• Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Chemistry, Chemical/Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
  • Above 5 years of engineering experience in an industrial process plant, preferably within a utility
  • Practical experience with Reverse Osmosis (RO), mixed-bed ion exchangers for water treatment technologies
  • Familiarity with high-recovery RO systems used in zero liquid discharge setups
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of national and international guidelines for boiler feedwater and steam purity
  • Experience with proven project management for domestic and industrial wastewater treatment plant upgrade/modification
  • Ability to respond rapidly to water treatment plants operational troubleshooting issues
     
• Computer Literacy
  • Proficient in Office 365 and Chinese Word Processing
  • Experience in using Enterprise & Maintenance Software (e.g. ERP) is advantage
  • Familiarity with AI tools or utilizing AI assistance on administrative tasks is advantage
     
• Language Skills
  • Proficient in spoken and written Chinese and English
  • Good command of Cantonese is preferred
     
• Others
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Able to work and make decisions under pressure
  • Well-organized with strong planning, prioritization, multi-tasking abilities
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism, attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards
