The Faculty of Education invites applications for the position of Full/Associate Professor in Artificial Intelligence and Education Technology.

The Faculty of Education offers Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. programmes in various areas of education, with renowned scholars from China and abroad who are dedicated to the discovery, application and dissemination of new knowledge. Qualifications

Applicants whose research in this field will advance information technology in education at various education levels, including but not limited to (1) theoretical foundations related to information technology education, artificial intelligence (AI) education, and/or examining these through empirical research to understand their impact on teaching and learning; (2) designing and delivering courses on major topics of information technology-based designs and other emerging technologies for learning and assessment, such as tools or curricula used in offline classrooms, online platforms, and out-of-school settings; (3) researching the pedagogical potentials and complexities of AI and information technology, addressing learners’ diverse needs, and preparing them for future careers and life.

Applicants should have: (1) a doctoral degree in educational technology, AI in education, artificial intelligence, computer science, or related areas; (2) a clearly defined research agenda at the intersection of information technology/artificial intelligence and education; (3) established international excellence in research and scholarship, with a proven record of publications in top-tier journals (e.g., SSCI or SCI indexed journals); (4) a strong teaching record at the university level, particularly in courses related to use of artificial intelligence/information technology in teaching and learning; (5) proven experience in developing and leading innovative educational programmes and curricula that integrate artificial intelligence or other emerging information technology; (6) excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment; and (7) a strong international network of collaborations with scholars and practitioners in the field and the ability to manage and engage in international/national collaborative research projects. Priority consideration will be given to those with degrees in both information technology related areas (e.g., artificial intelligence, computer science, data science) and education, with proven competence in publishing top journal articles in this area.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in early 2026.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor and MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
