The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) is currently looking to fill the following vacancy in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH):
Assistant Professor/Associate Professor (Ref. No.: FAH-AP75)
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform academic duties, including but not limited to teaching modules at the undergraduate and master level of Design;
- Work on R&D projects via design and submission of proposals to the Macao funding bodies such as the FDCT, the DSEDJ, and the Macao Foundation;
- Publish regularly in Peer-Reviewed Publications and International Conferences;
- Work with the Department of Architecture and Design on the development of Pedagogical and Scientific Activities;
- Work on the development of Programme Revision for the Quality Assurance and Enhancement;
- Assist in research and collaboration with International partnerships.
Requirements:
- PhD Degree in specialized fields related to Product Design, such as Industrial Design, Product Design Technologies, Manufacturing Processes and Assembly, Ergonomics and Human Factors for Product Design, or UI & UX for Product Design;
- At least 5 years of professional experience in relevant Product Design industry;
- At least 3 years of lecturing experience in tertiary education institutes;
- Experience in engineering-based industrial design tools, including parametric design and robotics;
- Good track record of Peer-Reviewed publications, funded research grants, Research & Development, and Project Development and Management;
- Fluency in industry-standard 2D and 3D CAD modelling software, including output/machining technologies, rapid prototyping, CNC machinery, laser cutting, and 3D printing;
- Awards for design projects, research and publications are valued;
- Proficiency in English;
- Macao ID holder is preferable.
